Hampton Roads Pediatric Ophthalmology
Dr. Patrick Burke is a Board Certified and fellowship trained pediatric ophthalmologist. He joined Hampton Roads Eye Associates in 2023. He has a passion for providing exceptional eye care to patients of all ages, including treatments for strabismus, cataracts, glaucoma, and blocked tear ducts. Originally from Connecticut, he spent 12 years in Boston. Dr. Burke’s education and training includes:

- Ophthalmology Residency, Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC
- Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship, Children’s National Medical Center, Washington DC
During his time in Boston, he also dedicated three years to HIV research at the Ragon Institute MGH, MIT, and Harvard. After moving to Washington DC, Dr. Burke met his wife Laura, who is also a pediactric ophthalmologist, better known as Dr. Kueny. In 2020, Dr. Burke relocated to Arizona and practiced with his wife at ABC Children’s Eye Specialists, where they served their community until 2023.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Burke has been pursuing a master’s degree in computer science at Arizona State University, focusing on machine learning. His goal is to integrate his passion for technology with his dedication to medicine to improve the delivery of healthcare, and he is actively working on AI applications in the healthcare space. He is also active in Dr. Kueny’s non-profit organization Little Eyes International, which provides ophthalmological services internationally to an underserved area in Sonora, Mexico.
Dr. Burke’s aim is to provide the highest quality ophthalmological care for his patients with a warm and patient-centered appraoch. When not in the office, you may find him spending time with his wife and son, long-distance running, hiking, or computer programming. He is excited to join the Hampton Roads community.
