Benjamin Chun, MD

Dr. Benjamin Chun is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. He joined Hampton Roads Eye Associates in 2026, but has been serving patients in the Virginia area since 1994 when his military service brought him to Virginia as a General Medical Officer at McDonald Hospital in Ft. Eustis. Dr. Chun’s education and training includes:

Dr. Chun then did a hardship tour in Korea and served as head of the Eye, Ear, and Throat Department at 121 Hospital in Seoul, Korea. He subsequently retired from the Army and was employed at Southwestern Eye Center in Arizona. He became Medical Director of Cataract and Laser Institute of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, and also Medical Director of DC Eye Center in Vienna, VA starting in 2016.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in the latest techniques in cataract, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgery. In addition, he has extensive training and experience in the care of diabetic eye disease, dry eyes, and comprehensive eye care. Outside of Ophthalmology, Dr. Chun enjoys golfing, exercising, and reading.
