Advanced Eye Testing
Eye testing is performed in our office. Frequently, when you go to your regular doctor, you will have to visit a lab to get bloodwork done. Instead of sending you somewhere else to get your eye testing done, everything is done in our office. Thus, eye visits can take considerably longer compared to visits with your other doctors, if you are receiving tests the same day as your exam. Some of the eye testing that we provide includes:
- Visual Field Exams: These are typically used to check your peripheral vision, which can be affected by glaucoma and various neurological conditions.
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): This is a picture that shows the cross-sectional anatomy of the eye, and is used to monitor conditions like glaucoma and virtually all central retina conditions.
- Wide-field Imaging with Optos: This is a wide-field photo of the back of the eye, useful in monitoring diseases of the back of the eye.
- Fluorescein Angiography (FA): Useful in diagnosing certain retinal conditions, this test involves injection of fluorescein dye into your vein prior to photographs being taken.
